The Fargo–Moorhead metro straddles the Red River: Fargo and West Fargo on the North Dakota side, Moorhead on the Minnesota side. Flooring showrooms and independent installers already cross that line every week for installs, tear-outs, and warranty callbacks. What they usually lack is a clean B2B path to move labor without a bid war or a lead-gen tax on either side.
FloorConnect connects flooring stores with independent installers through private offers. No public bidding. 0% commission on installer pay. HQ remains Trade Install, LLC in Scottsdale, AZ. Minnesota is an onboarding / expanding market (Minnesota hub). North Dakota is an onboarding market listed on the homepage. There is no separate ND location page set in this pack, and this article does not invent Fargo or West Fargo location URLs.
### Stores: fill the calendar across the border
Post install, prep, demo-only tear-out, or haul-away with materials, photos, timing, and pay. Matching filters by coverage, skills, and pay preferences, then sends private offers in ranked waves. You see the matching fee before you post; FloorConnect charges it after verified completion. Optional Store Pro / Store Pro+ software subscriptions are separate and can lower per-job cost for higher volume.
You settle the installer off-platform. FloorConnect is never merchant of record for installer labor. No flooring is sold in the app. That keeps product margins and labor pay in the lanes your store already runs.
Border metros create a practical problem: a Moorhead pin and a West Fargo pin are minutes apart, but licensing and insurance expectations can differ by state. Put the job pin where the work happens. Let installers who cover both sides set honest service regions so distance ranking stays fair.
### Installers: see the job before you accept
Set skills (carpet, LVP, hardwood, laminate, tile, demo/haul), service areas that include the metros you actually cover, and pay minimums. When a store job fits, you get a private offer with scope, photos, timing, and pay. Accept or decline in the window. Free to receive offers. Optional Installer Pro adds priority matching and a Pro badge — trust in-app pricing for the current rate.
Optional docs are not eligibility gates. Verified GL/license can add at most a small legitimacy ranking boost. Waves are invite windows for ranked eligible installers, not a live V2 ranking claim.
### Climate reality without the fluff
Red River Valley winters punish soft scopes: meltwater at entries, salt grit, dry indoor heat, then spring humidity swings. Stores that spell out prep, moisture notes, and haul-away cut declines. Installers who list demo/haul and winter-ready availability get clearer fits. Rigid-core LVP and carpet still dominate many residential tickets here; the labor side fails when tear-out or slab moisture is hidden until show-up day.
For winter-specific work-order patterns, see winter demo, prep & haul-away. For how private offers differ from bought leads, see private offers vs lead gen.
### Licensing — keep it high-level and official
Minnesota: requirements depend on the work and jurisdiction. Start with DLI residential contractor licensing. Specialty vs multi-skill residential rules matter; confirm what applies to the jobs you take.
North Dakota: contractor licensing rules depend on job value and jurisdiction. For official guidance, use the North Dakota Secretary of State — Contractors page (NDCC ch. 43-07 context). FloorConnect is not the SOS and not a flooring contractor. Confirm what applies to your work before you accept jobs that cross thresholds or city rules.
Product pages: for stores · for installers. MN metros when you also run Twin Cities volume: Minneapolis · St. Paul.
If you sell floors on either side of the river and need crews without a bid board, register and post. If you install and already cover Fargo–Moorhead, set coverage and wait for private offers that show pay first.
