Lakes-country flooring retail does not run like a Twin Cities warehouse schedule. In the Detroit Lakes–Perham–Fergus Falls corridor, sold jobs stack up around cabin openers, lake-home remodels, and short weather windows. When your crew list is thin, the install calendar slips first — and the phone tree of “who’s free next week” burns half a day.
FloorConnect is a B2B marketplace for flooring stores and independent installers. Operated by Trade Install, LLC from Scottsdale, AZ, it is onboarding / expanding in Minnesota. That is not a claim of statewide-live coverage. Northern Minnesota stores that already sell product and need labor can use it to fill scoped work without inventing a new subcontractor list every week.
### Post the job once — clear scope
Capture flooring types (carpet, LVP, hardwood, laminate, tile), prep needs, timing, and pay. Work orders can cover install, prep, demo-only tear-out, and haul-away. Reusable templates help when you run the same product families all season — click LVP in a lake kitchen, carpet in bedrooms, tear-out on a dated ranch outside Fergus Falls.
FloorConnect does not sell flooring in-app. You sell the goods. The marketplace matches labor only. Stores remain responsible for product, customer communication, and settling the installer.
### Private offers — no bidding
Eligible installers receive private offers in ranked waves. There is no public bid board and no homeowner lead auction. Matching checks state coverage, skills, and pay preferences first. Ranking uses distance to the job pin, completed-install experience, reliability signals from platform activity (completion and acceptance patterns), and how the job’s pay compares to the installer’s minimums. Pro and Pro+ store jobs can get a priority boost so stronger matches see them sooner.
Waves are invite windows — not a “V2 live ranking” product. If the first wave does not accept, the next wave is invited automatically. Each installer sees scope, photos, timing, and pay before accepting or declining.
Optional licensing and insurance docs are not eligibility gates. Verified GL/license can add at most a small legitimacy ranking boost. That is not an unlock percentage, and FloorConnect does not market bare “legit” status as a badge slogan.
### Matching fee vs Store Pro / Pro+
Stores see the matching fee before posting. FloorConnect charges that fee after verified completion. Optional Store Pro and Store Pro+ are separate software subscriptions that can lower per-job cost for volume. Keep the names distinct from the matching fee in staff training and customer-facing talk tracks.
Installers keep agreed pay from the store. 0% commission on installer pay. You settle the installer off-platform (ACH, check, Venmo, or whatever you already use). FloorConnect is never merchant of record for installer labor pay.
### Where this fits Minnesota coverage
Deep MN pages today: Minnesota hub, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Rochester. Detroit Lakes–area work sits under the statewide hub as onboarding geography — installers set service regions; stores set the job pin. There is no separate Detroit Lakes, Perham, or Fergus Falls location microsite, and this pack does not invent one.
For product mechanics, see how matching works and for stores. Cabin-season scopes: lake home & cabin installs. Installer recruitment north of the Twin Cities: northern MN installer jobs.
Minnesota licensing and registration rules depend on the work and jurisdiction. Single-skill specialty work is treated differently from multi-skill residential contracting under DLI rules — start with DLI residential contractor licensing and confirm local city requirements when they apply. FloorConnect tracks docs during onboarding with expiration reminders; stores still confirm job-fit for each work order.
If your showroom already covers lakes-country retail and the bottleneck is labor, register and post a scoped job. Private offers beat another week of “I’ll text you if I can make it.”
